Moselsteig (long-distance trail)

The Moselsteig (long-distance trail) sparkles with countless unique panoramic views of the idyllic Moselle valley. The Moselle winds majestically around picturesque spots located on the peninsulas. The silhouettes of houses, which often crowd directly around the riverbank, are reflected in the gently shimmering water. As are the gradually rising or abruptly and steeply soaring vineyards. From their ridges, supposed “lakes”, formed from the meandering Moselle bights, can be made out in the distance. Views such as these make the Moselsteig long-distance trail a real experience.

365-kilometres-long, the “Leading Quality Trail – Best of Europe”, one of Germany’s longest premium hiking routes, is also one of the most diverse premium hiking trails – challenging and surprising at the same time. Along the way from Perl, near to the French border, to the Deutsches Eck (German Corner) in Coblenz, where the Moselle flows into the Rhine, the views constantly change. A fun excursion for active holidaymakers and for families who can start their Moselle tour in full comfort on the bus or the train. The Moselsteig offers 24 stages, each of which is 11 to 24 kilometres long and has a varying level of difficulty. If you hike the Moselsteig in full, you will cross the Moselle 13 times.

Discover the wonderful landscape of the Moselle valley. The Moselsteig is waiting for you.
