Guided tours at Europe´s biggest bridge construction project. The brand new Hochmoselbrücke B 50 across the Moselle has gigantic dimensions. Guided tours on the construction site and slideshow at the “Römerkelter” house in Erden! Visitors and locals can look forward to a new and interesting guided tour on the Moselle: From now on, on behalf of the Federal Mobility Office at Trier, official tours on the “B50 neu - Hochmoselübergang” (B 50 new - high Moselle bridge) are on offer.
In the historic setting of the Roman wine press at Erden (GPS data: 49°58'41.88" N 07°01'07.20" O), an information centre for citizens was installed by the Landesbetrieb Mobilität (LBM) Rheinland-Pfalz (Federal Mobility Office). This centre is in place during the building process of the Hochmoselbrücke B50 and is equipped with multimedia information on the ambitious bridge project. Trained guest guides will accompany you on a 2-hour tour where they will tell you all the relevant details on the major construction project and inform you about current events. No registration required.

Meeting point: BIZ (information centre) at the Roman wine press at Erden

There are open tours every 4th Friday of the month starting at 2 p.m.:
Starting and meeting point is at the BIZ (information centre). There will be a short film screening with basic information on Europe´s currently biggest bridge construction project as well as a short introduction into the history of the Roman wine press at Erden. Participants get a cold drink.
Afterwards, everyone drives to the construction site in their own car. Participants receive a safety vest, which they have to wear during the guided tour. On the 1 Km tour across the construction site, different aspects will be discussed:

• geology
• the seven bridge piers
• construction yard
• the segments and sections of the superstructure
• current work on the superstructure
• the abutment

Please notice that for the tour, sturdy shoes are recommended. The official end of the event is after the round tour. However, subsequent to the tour across the construction site, the trained guest guides of the municipality of Bernkastel-Kues will still have time to answer your remaining questions.
