Marienburg circular hiking trail (12 km, approx. 3.5 hours)
Hike along the Moselle, through forests and vineyards and enjoy wonderful views of the Moselle valley and Germany's narrowest bend in the Moselle. There is something for everyone on this hike. Whether on a straight route along the Moselle or in the heights through forests and vineyards. The highlight of the hike is the Prinzenkopf tower behind the Marienburg. From there you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Zeller Land and the Moselle loop. From Alf you take the ferry back to the other side of the Moselle to Bullay and from there along the Moselle back to Zell (Mosel). "Zeller Schwarze Katz" fountain on the market square, to the banks of the Moselle - then right - over the pedestrian bridge to the Kaimt district - there (opposite the sign: Marienburg, observation tower, Prinzenkopf) the path leads us to the right through the Marientaler Au straight ahead to Bundesstrasse. B 53-here right the path Rad- u. Walk about 100 meters on the hiking trail - cross the B 53 (extreme caution) then take the dirt road (sign: Marienburg hiking trail 3 km) turn right - always straight ahead, past the Engelskapellchen (1886) - after about 700 m at the level of the ruins of the former Marientaler Hof The Marienburg is already visible on the ridge-after 500 m at the bar run north-right-after 100 m cross the street-driveway to Marienburg-after 300 m past the house Nunnekehr. Then the path leads uphill to the right of the traffic sign to Marienburg approx. 300 m - from the Marienburg, wonderful view of the Moselle valley - straight ahead on the paved path - here on the right Q3 / Q1 the paved path to the end (height of the high voltage pylon) - straight ahead after approx. 80 m (sign: observation tower) the path leads up to the left slightly uphill to the Prinzenkopf approx. 90 m - from the Prinzenkopf following the path (sign: Heldenfriedhof) to Ehrenstätte Prinzenkopf (Heldenfriedhof) - coming from the path straight on over the asphalt path to Alf (Sign: Alf) - further Q2 past Haus Waldfrieden (90 degree left curve) to the seating area - here the street on the right "M" (Moselhöhenweg) - after approx. 800 m you reach the banks of the Moselle at the Moselhotel Alf and the Fährkopf opposite.
